Zach and Heidi Hammer serve churches around the globe from Harlan, Iowa, through Digital Deacon, a practical church technology ministry that helps churches fix the technology and systems problems that slow ministry down. Through Digital Deacon, Zach helps churches with websites, livestream, giving tools, volunteer systems, follow-up, software setup, training, and other behind-the-scenes systems churches use every week. The goal is to help churches build simple systems their teams can understand, use, and sustain.
Digital Deacon grows out of Zach’s long-running burden to serve the church. He first pursued ministry through preaching, local church planting, and church leadership, earning an Associate Degree in Ministry from Central Christian College of the Bible, now Central Bible University. His path later shifted into business, marketing, communication, and technology systems, where he learned to make complex work clear and usable. In recent years, God has renewed that original ministry burden through hands-on service in local churches and the needs Zach has seen among pastors, staff, and volunteers carrying confusing systems with limited help. Digital Deacon brings together that calling and experience to serve churches at no cost through the support of donors and ministry partners.
