After working as a firefighter/ paramedic for 10 years, I understand the relationship between my authority and obedience. The commands are given with the expectation of completion with timeliness and excellence. Therefore, when the LORD gave instructions to minister to locals who work in a city garbage dump, I understood. There is no room for comfortability nor “safety”. There is only one appropriate response: “Yes, LORD,” followed by obedience.
Since December 2022, a small group of Christian Guatemalan men and I have been ministering in a city garbage dump. With extreme health hazards always present and high external temperatures, still, we desire to help these Guatemalans experience, know, and understand the love GOD has for them. Therefore, the love of Christ compels us to obey GOD by going, loving others by sharing the gospel, and honoring King Jesus by training believers to become disciples of Jesus who will make more.
